AutoLOD: Impostors is a simple tool that allows full management of impostors, from cooking to rendering, with automatic configuration of the LOD group.
An imposter is a billboard displaying an image of a 3D object. The image is updated and changed according to the viewing angle to simulate the 3D effect and save power.

When should I use it?
- Impostors are mainly used to render static objects from a distance to optimize the scene. You can also use them to create a unique graphic style with a 3D “snap” effect.
Can any object in my scene be replaced with an imposter?
- Technically, any object that has a mesh renderer attached can be replaced with a cheat. However, they should mostly be used as a replacement for static networks over long distances. At closer distances, the difference becomes clear because a simple quad doesn’t intersect the surrounding objects in the same way as the original mesh. In addition, cheats are built into the orthographic view that cause the perspective to be wrong when the distance is smaller.
Are scammers compatible with the LODGroup component?
